Griswold teen dies in accident

March 31, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A single-vehicle rollover accident on Saturday morning in southwest Iowa’s Cass County claimed the life of an 18-year old from the Griswold area. Cass County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey Larsen said the crash was reported shortly before noon near Griswold.

Larsen says Austin Oldenkamp, of rural Griswold, was traveling northbound in a 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo, when for reasons unknown, he lost control of the car. The vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled twice before coming to rest upright. Oldenkamp was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
