A former Iowa truck driver will serve over 17 years in prison after taking a teenage girl on a trip through four states. Forty-six-year-old Tony Lee Stogdill of Imogene pled guilty in November to transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Stogdill admitted to taking a 15-year-old girl on a trip in 2009 from Iowa to Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois and then back to Iowa. During the trip he forced the girl to have sex with him. Stogdill also admitted his actions were part of a pattern where that involved illegal conduct with minor girls.

Stogdill was sentenced to 210 months in prison and ordered to pay an amount of restitution that has yet to be determined. Stogdill had previously been convicted for sex crimes in Fremount County in 1989 and 1991.

Stogdill’s wife Jennifer pled guilty to trying to cover up her husband’s crime, and under a plea agreement was given probation.
