A popular summertime attraction in central Iowa has landed on a list with some of the best known amusement parks in the country. The American Mensa organization surveyed its members and compiled a list of the top 10 amusement parks in the U.S.

Adventureland Park in Altoona is listed fourth, topped only by Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. Adventureland, which first opened in 1974, placed one spot ahead of Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio — billed as the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.” Adventureland is scheduled to open for the season on April 26, with a new ride — the Storm Chaser — set to open in June.

Mensa International is a non-profit organization whose members score at the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized I-Q test.
