Two dead in accidents in northeast Iowa

April 7, 2014 By Matt Kelley

Two people are dead following separate traffic incidents in northeast Iowa Sunday. The Iowa State Patrol reports a motorcyclist ran a stop sign late Sunday morning and then tried to get away from trooper in Waterloo.

A brief chase ended when the motorcycle crashed into a concrete wall. Thirty-year-old Jon Winburn of Cedar Falls was pronounced dead at a hospital. Meanwhile, in Dubuque County, authorities say a pedestrian was hit and killed by a drunk driver. It happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday along Highway 20 near Farley.
