Mason City was hit by severe flooding in June of 2008 and some of the homes damaged back then are just now going up for auction. An informational meeting for people interested in purchasing and moving the homes will be held Thursday at Mason City’s City Hall as the city has completed plans to auction eight more flood homes.

Walking tours for three of the properties in the western part of town will take place next Wednesday, with walk-throughs of five other properties in the northeastern part of town will take place on Saturday May 3rd. The city will auction off the homes on May 12th, with successful bidders being required to move the homes off the property by September 9th.

More information about the homes can be found on the city’s website at masoncity.net.
