Atlantic man sentenced to 10 years in prison on drug charges

April 28, 2014 By Dar Danielson

A forty-nine-year-old Atlantic man will serve a decade in prison on drug charges. Franklin Schmidt Junior pled guilty to charges of distributing meth and possession with intent to distribute. The investigation determined Schmidt obtained meth from South Omaha, Nebraska in April of last year and brought the drug to Cass County.

Law officers stopped him before he could distribute the drug. Investigators also found Schmidt was responsible for distributing marijuana along with the meth. He was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison.
