Two killed in Madison County accident

May 5, 2014 By Matt Kelley

Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fatal car crash over the weekend in south-central Iowa’s Madison County. The crash happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday on 260th Street in Winterset.

Authorities say 20-year-old Mari Silliman of Winterset was driving a car and somehow lost control at the crest of hill, rolling the car into a ditch.

While Silliman was injured, two passengers in the vehicle died at the scene. They’re identified as Silliman’s boyfriend, 20-year-old Logan Waltz of Winterset, and 21-year-old Taylor Aleman of West Des Moines.
