May 12, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A southwest Iowa man died early this morning after the vehicle he was driving collided with construction equipment in Pottawattamie County. Police in Council Bluffs say 72-year-old Willie Donald, of Council Bluffs, died at an Omaha hospital after his vehicle entered a construction zone on North 16th Street at around 12:40 A.M., and hit a heavy construction vehicle.

Officials say the man was traveling south in the northbound lanes when the crash occurred. The accident remains under investigation.
