The Buena Vista baseball team takes on 36-7 record into the start of an NCAA Division three regional today. The Beavers won the Iowa Conference regular season and tournament championship and coach Steve Eddie says he is happy for a senior class that is making its second trip to the post season. Eddie says they were freshmen on the team that went to the World Series, but they didn’t play much. He says they have taken over the leadership and are leaving their mark.
Buena Vista enters the regional on a roll having won 18 of its last 20 games and the Beavers gave up only three runs in three games at the conference tournament. “We’re going to try to do everything we can to make sure we go there and have a great time and enjoy playing against great competition and enjoying the spotlight a little bit,” Eddie says.
Buena Vista opens against St. Scholastica in what Eddie calls a difficult region.
