Nebraska man hit and killed by car in Davenport

May 14, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Davenport police have released the name of a pedestrian who died after being struck by a car.  It happened shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday. Seventy-four-year-old John O’Brien of Stapleton, Nebraska was struck while crossing a downtown street. He was taken to a Davenport hospital, where he died.

The driver of the car was 46-year-old Travis Hearn of Rock Island, Illinois. He was cited for having no driver’s license. Police say weather may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
