Ottumwa couple claims cheeseburger had marijuana in it

May 14, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A couple from southeast Iowa claims the cheeseburger they bought at an Ottumwa fast food restaurant was sprinkled with pot. Lieutenant Jason Bell from the Ottumwa Police Department says he has seen a lot of stuff, but never something like this.

Police say they are investigating the case. They say a man bought the burger for his pregnant fiancé. The couple alleges that they received an order and that the cheeseburger had marijuana on it. Police say a sample of the substance has been sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation for analysis.
