Man and woman found dead in Glidden mobile home

May 19, 2014 By Matt Kelley

Authorities are investigating the deaths of two people in the western Iowa town of Glidden. Iowa DCI Assistant Director of Field Operations Mitch Mortvedt says the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about an unconscious person inside a mobile home at 129 Carroll Street just before 10 p.m. Sunday. Mortvedt says a neighbor made the 911 call.

“Law enforcement responded and upon entering the residence, they found the body of a deceased adult male. Upon further investigation within the residence, they found the body of an adult female that was deceased,” Mortvedt said. The names of the two people have not been released and investigators are not discussing what may’ve happened.

“Right now, we’re working it as just an active death investigation and it’s certainly suspicious circumstances,” Mortvedt said. “We’re not calling it a homicide-suicide, natural causes, or anything like that until, hopefully, we can get some preliminary autopsy results.”

Autopsies on both bodies are scheduled for tomorrow at the State Medical Examiner’s office in Ankeny. Mortvedt says investigators are hoping neighbors or other people in the town can help them piece together what happened. He asks anyone with an information to contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
