One person stabbed, one shot in Webster County home invasion

June 2, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

The Webster County Sheriff is investigating a home invasion incident Sunday morning in the town of Coalville. The incident happened at around 6 o’clock when a man knocked on the door of a resident. When the occupant arrived at the door, the man cut the home owner in the neck with a knife.

The homeowner then used a handgun to fire three shots into the man’s torso. Fort Dodge Police and Webster County Sheriff’s Deputies found the suspect after he drove five miles away from where the incident happened. The alleged robber was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital while the homeowner was taken to a Fort Dodge hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
