There’s been a big shakeup this week in the leadership of a small northwest Iowa town. Milford Mayor Don Lamb and city council member Rick Kilts both resigned after an attempt by other council members to dismiss the city administrator.

Lamb says he’s too frustrated to continue serving as mayor. “With the way things have been going since the first of the year, I’m 79 years old, I’ve been at a point where I can’t sleep at night and get sick to my stomach sometimes…it’s not worth it. So, screw that,” Lamb said.

The town of roughly 3,000 residents is now looking for new leaders. In addition to the resignations this week, City Administrator Matt Skaret was placed on leave. Lamb said some members of the city council are trying to force Skaret out, not because of his job performance, but because they have problems with his personality or style of management.
