June 16, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Father’s Day weekend boat trip in eastern Iowa ended in tragedy. One person died, three made it to shore, and one remains missing as the boat capsized on the Mississippi River, north of Clinton Saturday.

The operator of the boat, 60-year-old Charles Selser remains missing, while 85-year-old Nancy Selser was found dead in the water. Both were from Clinton.

Thirty-year-old Edwin Selser of Davenport and his two children, ages 5 and 7, made it to shore. Searches were conducted Saturday and Sunday and a search is expected to resume today.
