The search will resume this morning in Fort Dodge for two children who reportedly fell into the Des Moines River Thursday night. Fort Dodge Police and Fire Departments began the search at around 7 when a call was received from a witness stating that two individuals went into the river near the Kenyon Road Bridge.

An aerial, ground and water search for the two lasted for two and half hours until it was called off at 9:30 due to darkness. The Des Moines River was measured at 14.8 feet this morning with flood stage at 10.5 feet. Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody said that they have not received any reports of missing children or adults who fit the descriptions given by the witnesses.

Detectives continue to work on the investigation to confirm witness reports including determining the identity of the two individuals and whether they escaped the flood water.
