Cedar Rapids soldier among Marines killed in Afghanistan

An Iowan was among three Marines killed in Afghanistan late last week. The Department of Defense announced today that the three Marines died last Friday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, located in southern Afghanistan.

An Iowan, Lance Corporal Adam Wolff, was among those killed. The 25-year-old Wolff was from Cedar Rapids. The other Marines were from Stafford, Virginia and Peterborough, New Hampshire. All three Marines were assigned to a unit based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Details about exactly how the Marines died have not been released.
