For the first time in its history, the Prime Time League will hold games in the Cedar Valley tomorrow night. The CedarValley SportsPlex will serve as the site for the league’s games both this week and next Thursday.

The PTL typically hosts games in North Liberty, but according to Waterloo Recreation Service Manager Mark Gallagher, UNI coaches were hoping to have some contests a little closer to the Cedar Valley this summer. He says coach Ben Jacobsen asked about the possibility of moving the games. “We think it will be really neat for those Hawkeye and Panther fans in the Cedar Valley,” Gallagher says.

While the SportsPlex does not typically host events that bring in spectators, Gallagher says they do have some experience to work from as they had a large wrestling tournament in May. Gallagher says that they are working to provide a great viewing experience for the fans that do come out. “I think what they are going to really enjoy are the sight lines, we have two courts right next to each other, so they are going to have a great look,” Gallagher says. He says they have seating for 600 or 700.

There is no cost to get into the games. Doors open to the general public at 5:30, although SportsPlex members will be able to get in prior to that.
