Body found in Missouri River identified

July 14, 2014 By Matt Kelley

Authorities have identified a body pulled from the Missouri River nearly two weeks ago. The body of an adult male was spotted in the river on July 1 near the Plattsmouth Bridge in southern Mills County.

Investigators last week released information about tattoos on the body, which prompted calls from family members who positively identified the man as 49-year-old Robert T. Jensen of Council Bluffs. He had previously been reported missing. Dental records also confirmed the man’s ID.

The exact cause of Jensen’s death remains under investigation.
