The pickup driver involved in a crash that killed four teen boys in Dubuque County near Epworth has now been charged.

The Dubuque County Sheriff arrested 24-year-old Joseph Connolly of Holy cross on a warrant charging him with four counts of vehicular homicide by OWI, one count of serious injury by OWI, four counts of vehicular homicide by reckless driving, one count of serious injury by reckless driving and failure to stop for a stop sign.

Connolly was driving the pickup pulling a horse trailer on August 2nd when the Sheriff’s Department says he ran a stop sign and hit a utility vehicle killing Bryce Wilwert, Mitchell Kluesner, Nicholas Kramer and Sean Kenneally. They were all 14 and from the Epworth area.

Connolly was not hurt, but two passengers in the truck were treated for injuries.
