A Sioux City police officer remains in the hospital after being shot Friday. Officer Jill Ohm was shot in the chin as she was responding to a disturbance call. Ohm remains a patient at Mercy Medical Center where she is in stable condition.

Ohm will need major reconstructive surgery on her jaw, as the bullet passed through her jaw and lodge near her spine. Ohm is scheduled to be married in two weeks.

Police Chief Doug Young says a manhunt led them to 27-year-old Noah Ironshell, who was found one block away in an abandoned house with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Police issued a warrant for Ironshell’s arrest on an attempted murder charge. He remains hospitalized in critical condition at the Nebraska University Medical Center in Omaha.
