Davenport man is the victim in fatal ATV accident

The Iowa DNR has released the name of the man who died in a an ATV accident Monday. The DNR says 83-year-old Allen Sindt of Davenport was fatally injured in the ATV rollover in Stephens State Forest northwest of Unionville.

Information from the DNR says Sindt was riding by himself, but was with a hunting party. He tried to go over a downed log around 2:30 in the afternoon and the ATV rolled over on top of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The DNR says Sindt did have a permit to ride the ATV in the state forest.
