Des Moines police investigate fatal stabbing

Police are investigating a deadly stabbing this morning in Des Moines. Police say the initial call came just after 3 a.m. and claimed an intruder entered the house and was stabbed. It happened at 1141 Amos Avenue in Des Moines. Responding officers found a 34-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say the person involved in the stabbing and other people who were in the home at the time were taken to the Des Moines Police Station for interviews. This is the 12th homicide investigated by Des Moines Police detectives in 2014.

Police have not yet filed any charges in the case or released any names of those involved.
