Toddler dies in Appanoose County accident

An accident Monday claimed the life of a toddler in southern Iowa. According to the Appanoose County Sheriff’s office, a two-year-old girl was run over by an SUV driven by her grandfather. It happened around 2:20 p.m.

Monday in rural Centerville. Deputies say 68-year-old Robert Broshar went outside to warm up the vehicle and started moving the SUV, unaware his granddaughter had gone outside. She was struck by the vehicle and Broshar drove her to the hospital in Centerville where she later died. The incident remains under investigation.
