Jurors are hearing opening arguments today in a more than three-decade old double murder case out of Newton. Terri Supino’s trial is taking place in Waterloo. The trial, moved to Black Hawk County due to pre-trial publicity, is expected to last two to three weeks.

The 54-year-old Supino is accused in the March 3, 1983 beating deaths of her estranged husband, 20-year-old Steven Fisher, and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Melisa Gregory. They were killed at the former Copper Dollar horse ranch northwest of Newton. Supino was arrested at her Altoona residence exactly 31 years after the murders.
