Bullets found in bathroom at Dubuque elementary school

February 12, 2015 By Matt Kelley

Students are back in class at a Dubuque elementary school this morning after a discovery in a restroom prompted a police investigation. A staff member at Bryant Elementary discovered several 38-caliber bullets at the bottom of a toilet in a boys’ bathroom late Wednesday afternoon.

Students were kept in their classrooms and had their coats searched before they were allowed to head home. They also had to leave their backpacks behind which were searched by a Dubuque police canine unit. No other contraband was found.
