Ankeny kindergarten teacher arrested for public intoxication in classroom

February 17, 2015 By Dar Danielson

ankeny-policeAnkeny police report an elementary teacher in the Ankeny School District was arrested Friday and charged with public intoxication and child endangerment after she was observed with a can of beer in her classroom by parent.

Ankeny police arrested 40-year-old Jennifer Rich of West Des Moines after she tested positive for alcohol in a preliminary breath test.

Officers say two empty beer cans and four full cans were found in Rich’s leather bag in her classroom. The parent saw the beer can while helping Rich prepare for a Valentine’s party.
