Names released on two found dead in Davenport home

March 10, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Crime Scene TapePolice are releasing the names of two people found dead in a north central Davenport home. It will take weeks, but police are awaiting the results of autopsies to determine if a suspected heroin overdose killed 45-year-old Frances Hall and 34-year-old Marcus Mitchell.

Cops received a request for a welfare check at the house on March 4th. They found both bodies in a bedroom. Since the first of the year, Davenport police officers have responded to 17 heroin overdose incidents with two confirmed deaths and possibly two more pending the latest autopsy results.

The Centers for Disease Control says the mortality rate associated with heroin has increased for the third year in a row — it’s up 39 percent from 2012. Deaths involving cocaine increased 12 percent.
