Preston motorcyclist dies in Clinton County accident

Sheriff vehicleAuthorities are looking into a fatal weekend motorcycle crash in eastern Iowa. The Clinton County Sheriff says the accident happened Saturday night about 6 o’clock, about two miles north of Goose Lake.

Upon arrival, deputies found a motorcyclist had crashed and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver had gone off of the road and struck a culvert opening and proceeded until he hit an embankment, pinning him underneath.

The victim is identified as 51-year-old Robert Witt from Preston. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
