Man allegedly fires shot at Winnebago County deputies

Sheriff vehicleOne man is in custody after a shot was fired during a standoff with authorities in northern Iowa last night The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says authorities were called to perform a welfare check on a man at around 5:30 last night. Authorities used cell phone tracking to find him later at a location near Rice Lake.

The suspect allegedly fired a single shot, but nobody was hit and there were no injuries. At about 8:45 p.m., the man was talked into surrendering without incident. The man was taken to a hospital for assessment, with his identity not being released at this time.
