Dubuque pedestrian killed in accident at intersection

May 1, 2015 By Matt Kelley

Ambulance-Back-DoorPolice say a Dubuque woman was struck and killed by a semi. The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Dodge and Locust Streets in Dubuque. Today, police identified the woman who was killed in the accident as 45-year-old Kelly Schuster.

The semi was driven by 48-year-old Dennis Schulte of South Amana. Police say Schuster was crossing the street when the light turned green allowing Schulte to turn. He was apparently unable to see Schuster was still in the intersection.

Schuster died at the scene. For now, no charges have been filed but the incident is still under investigation.
