Junior pitcher Calvin Mathews gave up one run in five innings of work to boost his season mark to 5-1. “The defense really came through today, I probably didn’t have some of my best stuff,” Mathews says.

Iowa improves to 18-3 in the Big Ten and 37-12 overall. They close out the regular season with a three game series at Rutgers beginning Thursday.
