ISU hires a new men’s basketball coach

Iowa State University announced that Murray State coach Steve Prohm will become the 20th head coach in Iowa State men’s basketball history. He replaces Fred Hoiberg who left to become the head coach of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls.

Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard will be formally introduce Prohm at a news conference tomorrow morning.

Prohm has been the leader of the Racer program for 4 years. The 40-year-old produced the top winning percentage in school history (.782) while winning two Ohio Valley Conference outright regular-season titles and three conference division championships.
