A convicted sex offender in northeast Iowa is missing. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports 30-year-old Thomas Cannon of West Union was recently sentenced for third-degree sex abuse and was expected to show up at the Fayette County Jail today.

The Sheriff’s Office was notified early this morning that Cannon cut his GPS monitoring bracelet and is believed to be driving a 2000 white Cadillac STS with dealer plates. He may be armed.

Cannon was arrested in June of last year for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Thomas Cannon should call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 563-422-6067.
