Ottumwa Police Chief Tom McAndrew says that several law enforcement agencies took part in executing search warrants at nine different locations in Ottumwa early Saturday morning.
Seventy-five police officers from around the region took part in the morning’s searches. While McAndrew says that an exact amount is not currently available, several pounds of meth were confiscated from the various locations.
We asked McAndrew how this would classify in terms of how big of a bust this was, he says “this is a very large bust. This ring being off the streets will significantly choke off the flow of Meth into Ottumwa and the surrounding areas.”
