Lewis Central baseball coach Lee Toole reached a milestone this week. Toole became the 10th coach in Iowa history to reach 800 wins on Tuesday night when his Titans posted an 8-2 victory over Atlantic.
His 34 year career has also included stints at New Hartford and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson where he won a state championship.
Toole says he has always enjoyed the everyday nature of the sport of baseball.
He says the game of baseball has remained the same between the white lines during his career and the biggest change has been in off season opportunities for players to improve their game.
Toole says despite his lengthy career he maintains a passion for the game, whether it is coaching the games or taking care of the field.
Lewis Central is 19-7 on the season and returns to action at home tonight against Adel ADM.
