Men from Davenport and Muscatine die in eastern Iowa accident

Police car lightsTwo men died and another was badly hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Davenport. The accident took place on eastbound Interstate 80 after 2 a.m. Monday.

Police say three men were in a Dodge pickup truck when it rolled, ejecting two of them. The driver, 30-year-old Marcos Wheeler of Davenport, and a passenger, 29-year-old Mario Obregon of Muscatine, died at the scene. Autopsies are pending.

Twenty-four year-old Augustine Teneyuque of Muscatine, is hospitalized in critical condition in Iowa City. Davenport Police Captain Brent Biggs says based on preliminary information, the cause of the crash is believed to be related to alcohol, speed and loss of control.
