The Mason City Airport will be hosting its first air show in 19 years this weekend. The “Fly Iowa 2015” airshow will include both nighttime and daytime flights. Bill Kyle, manager of North Iowa Air Services, says nationally renowned air show acts will be involved Saturday and Sunday.

“There will also be a fireworks spectacular right after the night air show. That’s all on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a flight breakfast followed by a day air show. This will probably be the largest air show that’s ever been in North Iowa,” Kyle says. The last time Mason City hosted an air show was in 1996.

Saturday’s festivities will also include a concert featuring The Nadas. Lara Kyle is helping organize Fly Iowa 2015 and says a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Francis Lauer Youth Services organization in Mason City.

“This is a great organization that helps local families with different services that they might need…counseling or schooling,” Kyle said. The schedule of events includes airshows at 4:30 and 8:30 on Saturday and noon on Sunday. Learn more online at mcwairshow.com.
