Dozens of cats found in Cedar Rapids trailer

August 10, 2015 By Matt Kelley

Police car lightsDozens of cats were removed from a trailer home in Cedar Rapids over the weekend. Police responded to a complaint about the smell and the large number of animals in the mobile home at Summit Valley Village.

A man living in the trailer voluntarily gave up the cats, some of which were in poor health. The nearest shelter, Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control, had to shut its doors so all staff could respond.

Police haven’t said how many cats were taken from the home — they’re only saying dozens. As yet, no charges are filed against the unidentified man.
