Investigators believe speed played role in motorcycle accident in Clive

August 10, 2015 By Matt Kelley

Police-lightsSpeed is believed to be a factor in a serious injury crash in the Des Moines suburb of Clive. The crash happened Sunday night when police say a motorcycle slammed into the rear of a minivan. Witnesses told police it appeared the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed in a location where the speed limit is 35 miles-an-hour.

The motorcyclist, 27-year-old Dane Jaquinta of Granger, was thrown from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet and was taken to a hospital with serious head injuries, according to police. The driver of the minivan was not injured. For now, no charges have been filed.
