Former Le Claire Volunteer Firefighters Association president charged with theft

August 13, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Police-car-backPolice in a Davenport suburb have arrested the former president of a community firefighters’ group. In June, the police department in the eastern Iowa city of Le Claire contacted the Department of Criminal Investigation for help investigating a string of suspicious financial transactions on the bank account of the Le Claire Volunteer Firefighters’ Association.

As a result of the investigation, former association president Shawn Ream has been charged with second-degree theft. Ream was arrested Wednesday and taken to the Scott County Jail. The Scott County Attorney’s Office will prosecute the case. The Firefighters’ Association is not affiliated with the city of Le Claire.
