GavelA Kansas man will serve time in prison for an Iowa insurance scheme. Thirty-eight-year-old Brian Henton of Olathe, Kansas reached a plea deal where he admitted to two counts of mail fraud. Henton admitted to using his Iowa license to sell around 120 supplemental Medicare insurance policies to Kansas residents.

Henton admitted he entered false Iowa addresses, false Iowa telephone numbers, and forged the applicants’ signatures so he could receive commissions payments from the insurance companies.

He was sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison and ordered to pay $23,000 in restitution to the Equitable and Cigna insurance companies.
