A man running for a seat on the Charles City School Board, who’s also a convicted sex offender, says the new charges against him are politically motivated. Doug Lindaman was charged last week with performing a sex act on a 17-year-old boy back in 2011.
Now, Lindaman says there’s no substantial evidence against him. On Monday, he filed a motion that says the Floyd County Attorney “has used her office to influence an election” by having him arrested so soon before the September 8th balloting.
Lindaman was convicted in 1988 on two counts of lascivious acts with minors.
