west burlingtonWest Burlington/Notre Dame football coach Nick Breuer says people in the community are calling it “The Showdown”. The Class 2A eighth ranked Falcons will be at home Friday night to take on class 1A sixth ranked West Branch.

It is also a statement game for the Falcons, who were hammered by West Branch 45-0 on the road in 2014.

“We went to West Branch and we were not ready I don’t think as a program”, said Breuer. “But now a year of experience, a year in the weight room and we are more physical and more disciplined. Our kids are ready to tackle the challenge and protect our house.”

Isiah Trousil, Xavier Williams, Jacob Smith and Spencer Williams were all key members of the school’s track team that won a state title last May and they are part of a Falcon offense that has averaged 518 yards in a 2-0 start. West Branch is 2-0 following wins over Lisbon and West Liberty.
