Pittsburgh has used two quarterbacks in a 2-0 start to the season and first-year coach Pat Narduzzi does not sound like he’s in any hurry to name a permanent starter as the Panthers get set to invade Kinnick Stadium to play the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday night.

Chad Voytik has attempted 22 passes so far for Pitt and fellow junior Nate Peterman has thrown 21 in victories over Youngstown State and Akron.

“I feel comfortable with either one of them playing for us or starting for us”, said Narduzzi. “I think the media would like to make it a controversy and I think our football team likes competition. I don’t care if it is the quarterback position or a safety position it’s the same thing every week for us.”

Narduzzi says both quarterbacks are similar in their styles of play and they don’t go into each game with a set rotation.

“It’s a feel thing and you don’t have a tally sheet”, said Narduzzi. “It’s a matter of what you feel at the time and you kind of go with your feelings.”
