Caseys-sign2About 600 stores in the Casey’s convenience store chain are now offering customers online ordering for pizza.

Bill Walljasper, the chief financial officer for Casey’s General Stores, says within just a few months that online ordering option will be available at every one of Casey’s more than 1,850 stores.

“We are on track to complete all of the stores by the end of the calendar year,” he says. Casey’s hasn’t been marketing this service yet, though.

“We don’t want to confuse the customer thinking that they can go onto their store and do online (ordering) and it not being available,” Walljasper says.

Data from the Casey’s stores where customers can go online to order a pizza hasn’t shown a dramatic increase in the number of pizzas ordered, but Walljasper says customers who order in the online format tend to spend more.

“We are seeing a significant uptick in the add ons with respect to things like bread sticks, buffalo wings and even extra toppings on the pizza,” Walljasper says.

Casey’s began offering its “made from scratch” pizza in December of 1984. The business has grown so much that Casey’s is the fifth largest pizza chain in the U.S. and Casey’s is now offering delivery of its pizzas.
