Man found dead in Dayton from gunshot wound

Crime-sceneAuthorities are investigating the death of a Dayton man. Webster County Sheriff’s deputies were sent to a home in the 200 block of Eighth Street Southwest in Dayton on Tuesday after a report was received of an unresponsive man.

The man was found to be dead from a gunshot wound. He is identified as 55-year-old Roger Alan Brown. An autopsy is planned by the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office. The State Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the case.
