Fire-truck-yellowA massive fire that started last night in a large commercial building near Anamosa is expected to burn for several days. It’s unclear for now what started the blaze inside the business ReConserve, a food waste solutions company. Anamosa Assistant Fire Chief Ron French told KCRG-TV the steel building keeps all the heat inside and the contents of the building will keep spreading the flames.

“There are hot spots all over and there’s a lot of animal feed burning inside the building. This is going to be a longterm event. This is going to smolder for days,” French said. No one was injured in the fire.

More than 10 fire departments have assisted with hauling water to the scene since there are no hydrants in the rural area. Firefighters placed a pump in the Wapsipinicon River and hauled water to the scene in tanker trucks.
