As William Penn prepares for its next opponent all the Statesmen really need is a mirror. Penn will visit Peru State on Saturday and both teams feature flexbone triple option attacks.
“We are almost exactly the same”, said William Penn coach Todd Hafner. “A lot of the schemes are the same and a lot of the plays we run are the same. So when we say mirror images of each other that’s exactly what we mean.”
The teams are one-two in the Heart of America Conference in rushing and Hafner says the similarities don’t stop there. Both teams are 4-2 and have beaten and lost to the same teams.
