October 20, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Police-lightsA Newton man faces three counts of attempted murder after an incident last night. Fifty-year-old John Leslie Britton is accused of intentionally hitting a 25-year-old man with his car. He’s also accused of intentionally running his car into another vehicle in the street multiple times.

A 50-year-old woman and a five-month-old child were in that vehicle, but were not injured. The man who was hit sustained non-life threatening injuries. According to the arrest report, Britton told officers he intended to “kill them all.” Britton is also charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
